A progressive yoga movement rooted in knowledge, wisdom and integrity.
Our Mission
Founded in 2012 by Stacey Swerer and Matt Dolezal, Effort and Grace Yoga is a passionate yoga collective infusing ancient teachings and philosophies with our modern day culture. Combined, Stacey and Matt have 40 years of joint teaching experience, offering classes, workshops and teacher trainings in Fort Collins, Colorado. Their style of yoga focuses on the foundations of alignment and healthy fluid movements that support the natural curves of the spine with the pulsation of the breath to receive maximum benefits from a consistent asana practice. The aim of Effort and Grace Yoga is to learn, grow, thrive and flourish in the beauty of togetherness to embrace a strong sense of community and cultivate personal empowerment.
“Effort and Grace yoga is a practice that takes dedication, devotion, and a sincere yearning to learn every time you get on your mat. Its foundation on the breath guides, strengthens, and enlivens you to take this practice to a deeper level by understanding the wisdom of prana from beginning to end. This alignment-based style with a focus on deep core stabilization is for anyone who wants the longevity of a strong yoga practice. It’s not about speed, but doing the little things well and with each class honing in and refining just like Matt and his teacher say ‘little by little, again and again,” learning through recursion and repetition. Every pose is like a vine that extends into the next with direct and clear guidance that you can flow through the skillful sequence to the fruit of a peak posture that blossoms overtime with patience. This is a graceful practice with proper alignment flows with the breath and beauty, which enables the true art of yoga to surface and shine through to every part of your daily life. Stacey and Matt have developed this amazingly deep style of practice that just keeps growing and flourishing. They are not just teachers, but leaders in the yoga community that is so needed in the current state of affairs in the world today. I am thankful to have them as teachers who continue to help me progress and deepen my personal practice.”
